Slashers Gone Wild: Director's cut Review
8 out of 10 Skulls
Written by: thekimber

Hats off to one of the silliest gorefest that I have ever seen! The title pretty much says it all! Seven slashers rip their way through over 20 victims in a contest for Slasher of the Year! There is a lot of decent gore in this movie and some real over the top moments. One of the sickest chainsaw decapitation scenes ever in in this movie! The victim's head just explodes into crunchy red goo! The one thing that makes this movie different than other slasher movies is that it is all about the maniacs. They relentlessly slaughter helpless tied up or drugged victims to impress the CEO of a company called Slashers Inc . The movie is made up from the contest entries sent in by the slashers. I think the creepiest entry was from a character named Nursery Rhyme Jack.

It was called Ed Gein's Christmas. After the segment he shares a pretty sick recipie with the help of one of his tied and bound victims. The goofiest segment was called truth or dare the gameshow. Loonitic Rob and the Murder Twins have a gameshow where they strap victims to a chair, ask them questions, and them promptly murder them. There are plenty of sick splattery moments and tounge in cheek humor. The final entry is from Kevin Tooler. He sends in a documentary called Fahrenheit 187. Kevin is apparently some kind of demon with an army of zombies at his command. He also has a split personality and slips in and out of control. He believes he is possessed by Slasher Inc's employee of the year Rob the Slasher. He is an odd combination of silly and creepy. In this segment alone there are three decapitations, disembowelment by chainsaw, flesh eating, dismemberment, a very vicious stabbing sequence, and a girl gets ripped inhalf. This segment was pretty entertaining and very well paced. The rest of the movie is run by Slasher Inc's employee of the year Rob the Slasher and the CEO Alicia. Alicia turns out to be an environmentalist.

She believes that she can clean up the planet by killing all of the people who pollute. Her company sends slashers out to wooded areas to slaughter people who cannot clean up their trash. Her employee of the year Rob the Slasher tortures a girl between segments because she threw a styrofoam cup in his forest. He is probally the funniest character in the movie. He even has his own talkshow where he interviews his favorite killers and murders random victims. The best part involves " Fireworks safety" He also has a thing for killing cheerleaders.

The skits called " Die Cheerleader Die " are pretty funny. The DVD comes with a ton of extra features. The blooper reel was hilarious! there were even cartoons DEmonboy was cool, and there is also a music video, one featured and one hidden. They are both pretty good. There is supposed to be another Easter egg, but I have not found it yet. Over all it is one of the best independent features that I have seen. It is one of the few movies that makes good on it's promises. I doubt it's " the bloodiest movie in American history " but it comes pretty damn close and it is funny as hell! Count me in if there is a sequel!
