10 out of 10 Skulls

Perhaps the granddaddy of all slasher films. This movie the standard for the other films of that genre.  I'm not going into the plot for alot of you out there has seen it, and  I don't want to ruin it for all the other people who have not seen it.

The one thing that movie does not have have is a tremendous amount of gore, It relies on the nautural thrills and chiills.  It also has good performance from some of the actors. Veteran actor Donald Pleasance is good in this film. He goes from psyciatrist to ahab like pursuer of the killer showing real devotion to apprehending him (or even killing him). Jamie Lee Curtis is the ultimate scream queen. She shows genuine fear and emotion in her film debut. She would show that same type of fear in later horror films. She would eventually move on and exhibit her other acting talents in non-horror films like Trading Places and A Fish Called Wanda!

In conclusion. In a world of  cheap imitators and remakes, Halloween will always be sure to surpass them!!
