My Name Is Bruce Review

I just happened to be a lucky? dude to catch a screener and it kinda makes me understand why its taking them so long to release it. This is Bruce Campbell at his worst / best ? I have to admit I liked it in a deranged sort of way only cause the man is it.

It's a totally silly concept and the writing wasn't very good.  The guy (Mark Verheiden) wrote it without giving Campbell his witty shit he's so well known for.  I mean he tried but failed miserably and that makes me wonder why Bruce went for it!? Theres a couple of funny moments but kinda sad in a way. I thought  Bruce would take this advantage and go for the skies, but it kinda fell in the muck.

The story goes something like this, Bruce is a B- Movie actor and he's kinda down on his luck with an ex and his drinking habit and his not showing up at the studio to finish his latest movie. So along comes a Bruce Campbell fan to get his help, which is much needed in this guys little hick town. So Bruce tells him off and before he knows it, he's knocked out and in the kids trunk on his way to hicks ville. When he arives he basically thinks its some type of plan and the people of the town are in character for a movie, so he plays along. Soon he finds out there's something way more real than he thought this hick town could show him.

Theres no doubt it's a Bruce Campbell's "fan" film but I think thats all it is, so if you are, then you will most likely like it, maybe, or you will hate it. ...... awww the truth will be known. I know all you Campbell fans will see it, so go and have a good time and don't blame me if you didn't like it.
