Cold Prey (2006) Review

I read the previous reviews, and knew that I had to watch this movie. So, got home from work, opened up the various Netflix movies until I got to this one, and started to watch. No disappoint from this side of the screen...

Plot---while skiing in a remote area, one of 5 skiers gets injured, resulting in the trip being over. But, since they are no where near their vehicle, they decide to take refuge in an abandoned hotel. It is there that they discover that it is not abandoned, that they are not alone, and without a means to escape, they will all fall prey to the being that is picking them off one by one...

I'll admit, I LOVE movies where victims are isolated from anyone else. From any help of any kind. Makes it more terrifying. Here, they are s.o.l. Injured friend can't defend himself, the guys are being picked off one by one, leaving only the "defenseless" woman to take care of herself. Original? No, but extremely entertaining...

• Acting---for a foreign movie, it was extremely well acted. Going thru the extras on the dvd shows how much they all enjoyed working together. Hell, I was laughing during the bloopers. Normally if I don't see bloopers on a DVD, I tend to think it was a paycheck...:)
• Nudity---none, but I am getting tired of the hot chicks dying first. New rule: hot chicks can die ONLY after showing something off. Spread the word...
• CGI---none, but it didn't need it because...
• Gore---plenty, and none of that body parts flung here and there crap. I'm talking trails of blood on the floor and walls, broken leg bond coming thru the skin. THAT type of gore...
• Scares---I jumped a few times, screamed at the TV "RUN MOTHER FUCKER, RUN!!!". But, he didn't listen...
• Bottom line---if you haven't watched it yet, what are you waiting for???
