Cold Prey(2006) Review

I have heard many a good things about this film over the net so I bought the dvd and watched it tonight. The film is a Norweigen slasher film called Fritt Vilt(aka Cold Prey) and after viewing it I have to say that I was quite disappointed in it. The film could have been a decent slasher flick but it just didn't have the right elements to me.

The film is about 5 friends who go snow boarding up  in the mountains. One of them breaks their leg and teh only shelter they can find for the night is a huge abandoned ski restort. Well, the ski restort happens to be the home of a deranged killer and he starts offing them off with a pickaxe.

The characters in this film are kinda boring and the english dubbing for the film is quite annoying at times so you might wanna just read the subtitles instead lol.

The kills are alright but I was expecting them to be gory and they really weren't that. The killer does have a cool outfit and the pickaxe is a good choice of weapon but it still just didn't do it for me. The film just wasn't energetic to me.

I liked the slasher film Shredder from a few years back better than this film.

The ladies in this film weren't too hot looking if you know what I mean. I can find better looking women drunk with BEER goggles on at the pub lol.

I was disappointed in this flick. I know there is a sequel to it in Norway so I'm sure we'll get it on dvd here in the future but they sure need to get some better and enjoyable characters in it and better kills with some gore.

I give this film a 5 out of 10 at best!
