Alien Raiders Review

9 out of 10 Skulls

I heard beautiful things about this movie from the site here so took my chances as nowhere was renting it, but Best Buy was selling it.  20 dollars later we have this review.  We start the movie off with a badass hostage situation, 10 minutes in and we already have a nice body count and a bunch of blood, it's very nice.

Once the normal robbery turns into something more, the movie gets interesting.  Something is inside of the people, this movie so far seems like Alien meets The Mist.

Once the hostage situation is sort of under control, the group of survivors are taken into the back room and pretty much interrogated.  They are asked if they see a red line, a humanizing question then have their finger cut off and put on ice.  If they aren't infected, they have to stitch back on their finger at a later date.  If they are infected with whatever this is, their finger will grow back and all hell breaks loose.

Once a lady who has the infection is properly disposed of, they find out that a cop that was initially killed in the first scene is back to life and has a surprise....he's an alien host!  Action goes on from there as our remaining survivors are picked off one by one until we are in a final showdown.

By the time the show down is over, all is at peace....until we find out it's not really over.  I won't say exactly what happens, but it was one of my favorite endings in a long, long while.

I was afraid that this movie would be another crappy scifi flick with poor graphics, crappy production and even worse acting.  To my surprise, it felt like a high budget film, the acting was very believable and the graphics seemed to have very little help from computers.

I give this movie a 9 out of 10 because it was an obvious hommage to Alien and that's one of the best movies, ever.  Also, the movie has this element about it where we start the movie, go through the movie and end the movie on some badass action, great storylines start to finish and a perfect musical setting.  Lately, so many movies have been ruined by their music score and this, luckily, is not one of those.

I can see this as not being a common movie you'll find 10 copies of everywhere, it was 1 of 2 copies when I was at my Best Buy, which is a huge store.  So if you can find it, pick it up, I promise it won't disappoint, unless you don't like aliens, then you're screwed and wasted money, heh.  Peace
