Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer (2007) Review

I don't know what to expect going into this movie.  I have heard nothing but great things about the movie and that it reminds people of the campiness of The Evil Dead. 

This movie starts out GREAT.  We see Jack as a child watching his sister, mom and dead brutally slaughtered by this creature that looks like a werewolf only cooler.  No doubt this is going to fuck him up, otherwise we wouldn't have a movie!

Jack has a beautiful anger to him.  I love Jack.  Robert Englund is in this movie, which rules because if I ever had to take a night class, I would want him to be my teacher.  Anyways, something was clogged in Englund's pipes at his home and when Jack tried fixing it, he woke up something that wasn't too good.  This something evil possesses Mr. Englund via heart ingestion. 

WHO DUCT TAPES THEIR ARM, this guy is the F'n man!!!  Basically, the rest of the movie, Englund turns people into these Evil Dead looking zombies and they try to kill everyone. 

As the movie ends, I am absolutely feeling how it is almost an hommage to the three Evil Dead movies, which is totally cool. 

I did enjoy the movie and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to have a good time!  Peace.
