Candyman Review

Have you ever looked into a mirror and sayed, "Candyman, Candyman, Candyman, Candyman, Candyman", and had a black man with a hook come out and gut you like a fish? Well if you have then believe it or not that person who killed you is callled Candyman, and he is from a movie, called Candyman.....

Candyman is about a woman who is going into a more troubled neighborhood trying to uncover the mystery of a murder. Or something like that. And she is questioning the residents and none of them really want to talk to her, but she learns about the legend of the Candyman who kills people who say his name 5 times into a mirror. Candyman is trying to spread fear into her so he can come back and haunt the people some more. Or something like that.

Its been a long time since I've seen this movie so that summary is missing some points to it, but anyways the movie stars Tony Todd, Candyman, and Tony is a great actor. He does a great job playing Candyman and he made him a memorable character. This is also a story from horror writer Clive Barker who wrote and directed Hellraiser, so you can tell this isn't going to be a campy funny horror film this is going to be a dark and serious movie. And it is and it works that way. I can't see this movie as a Nightmare on Elm Street type movie with jokes all over, I can only see this movie as a serious in tone horror film that gets to people.

Check this movie out if you like classic horror or slashers, this film isn't that gory but it has its moments. 7/10!!!! Give it a chance!
