Dance of the Dead Review

Sat down and watched this tonight and boy...was it great......... at first.

It starts out with a bunch of your atypical teenage kids getting ready for Prom, then comes zombies. It started out pretty fast and furious with some good laughs and a "Zombies rising from the graveyard scene" wich hasnt been seen in a while. Then things kinda go south. You can see all the inspirations for this movie. NotLD (of course) Return of the Living Dead 2 (I kept thinking it was like a direct sequel to it) and Shaun of the Dead. The problem was it didnt want to make its own Identity, nor did it follow its own rules. Get the zombie in the head, the zombie dies....Okay.... typical.... but zombies walking around carrying their own heads in their hands..... Uhmmm.... Kay....

And not to mention the zombies waking scene. I love seein the zombies rise from the grave and making quick chaos from the people in the graveyard, but they didnt just rise from the graves... no.... they exploded, launching themselves into the air and landing on their feet full run.... While it looked funny, it was just a touch too silly.

All in all a fun movie that had a LOT of potential but fell short, BUT i look forward to what new movies the director will do in the future.
