Gore, absorbant amounts of sex and violence, and music are all mixed into one of the funniest gross out movies I've seen. Yes this movie is stupid with its humor but if you get the jokes its also very well thought out and kind of intelligent. As they say Troma movies are only for geniouses two lik :D.....jk
Poultrygeist is about a chicken restaurant being opened up on top of an ancient indian burialground of course in Tromaville. There are many protestors outside the joint since it opened, kind of like Planned Parenthood, and one day Arby wants to prove his ex-girlfriend who is now a lesbian Wendy that he can win her back. The movie starts off with a very funny song and then goes into Arby applying for a job at American Chicken Bunker run by a black man named Denny. Some of the co-workers include Carl Jr, Humus, and Paco Bell. One day a weird egg is brought in one of the shipments and fed to an extremely fat man named Jared, who is a spoof of the Sub-Way Jared, and he literally shits out an egg and all over the walls and everywhere in the bathroom. Later on the chicken is tainted with whatever this green stuff is and causes people to turn into zombie chickens and attack the restaurant. This causes a HUGE blood bath scene for about 4 minutes straight.
This movie introduced me to Troma so I give it a lot of respect for doing so. I love Troma movies now because of this movie. Poultrygeist was amazing and really really funny, Lloyd Kaufman is an awesome director who does it his own way, but he is not a good actor. The acting in this movie is Troma acting so its not so great, well not as good as Tromeo and Juliet :P which was pretty okay...
The gore in this movie is over the top greatness and some of it is just weird, like a head being cracked and eggs come out....And someone's balls being ripped off and deepfried and eaten.... Anyways movie is very gory and fun.
But the movie isn't all about the gore and the violence and the lesbian sex.....and normal sex :P....its also about the comedy and the music aspect. Yes this is part musical but most of the songs are very funny and well done and fit into the movie, but there is one dance sequence that is pretty unnecessary. But the movie works with the songs and the first song used in the movie I love!
THis movie is perfect for all new comers to Troma, this is a great way to get your start. But be warned this movie is very gross at points for some, not me :P, and this movie has a lot of sex and awesome gore! This movie isn't for everyone but I do believe A LOT of people will enjoy this movie. I give this movie a 9/10!!!! its sucha great movie and introduced me to Troma so I give it respect!
