A film that stands the test of time and still gives that feeling to people watching it over 30 years later with its loud chainsaw noises and its unforgettable images and music in the back. This movie is a classic and if you have not seen it DO!

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is about a group of people traveling in a van to somewhere when they let a hitchhiker on and give him a ride. The hitchhiker turns crazy and cuts one of them and they all freak out. Once they arrive at the house they are going to they need to clean off the blood from the van and unpack. But two of them go off on their own to check around and they end up at the wrong house and get attacked by a fat man wearing a human skin mask who has a hammer and later a chainsaw. He continues to kill off the group until there is no one left. But will someone in the group fight back?

This movie is one of those crazy family movies and works very well. This movie all the way from the hitchhiker scene to the scene where grandpa is trying to bash someone's head in all work and may shock people to this day. Although this movie may not have as big an impact it still has some.

Director Tobe Hooper made this movie on a very low budget and did a great job with it. He managed to make a movie that would traumatize many and end up on the top hundred scariest movies of all time. It was also ALMOST on the video nasties list, it was one of the many close to it but not put onto the official list.

My only recommendations is to watch this movie in the dark and get the new 2-disc release because it has many special features. Watching any horror movie in the light will almost ruin it and this is no exception. This movie kicked ass and is not overrated and is great. Watch it and if you havn't how can you be a true horror fan? 9/10!!!!
