Night of the Living Dead (1990) Review
Written by: Googopqp
The night of terror gets a new way when gore effects god Tom Savini remakes this Romero classic with color and Tony Todd. This movie is good but can't be compared to the original. This is basically an exact remake but holds nothing to the original. But this still wasn't that bad of a movie. It was okay and the fact it was directed by Tom Savini and stars Tony Todd just gives it a little bonus in my book. This wasn't a perfect remake nor was a bad one, but it was lacking on alot, including gore which you are almost expecting from Tom Savini.
As you all should know Night of the Living Dead is about a group of people trapped in a house while there is an apocalypse of the living dead outside. They board up the house and try everything they have to to survive. The movies starts off with Barbara and her brother in the cemetery just like the original and it goes like that all the way to the end, which is the same as well. So you get the idea....
This movie was pretty good and I saw it before the original so I really couldn't compare. Also back when I saw it I was a little ignorant kid who didn't care about originals because, "It was in Black and While", but that has changed and I like the original, but I was always a Dawn of the Dead fan the most.....Anyways, this movie isn't bad nor is it great, it deserves abit higher score to me mostly because its Tom Savini and Tony Todd but the movie was lacking and wasn't very gory at all, which I was expecting. I give this remake of the 1968 classic Night of the Living Dead a 7/10!!!!
