Otis (2008) Review

As pizza delivery guy Otis Broth(Bostin Christopher) accidentally kills his abducted/kidnapped/pretend girlfriend Kim he decides to set out to find a new one.As Riley(Ashley Johnson) leaves her semi-normal suburban home Otis kidnaps her and makes her his new abducted/kidnapped/pretend girlfriend and also insists on calling her Kim.
As Otis and Riley's relationship grows(handcuffs,chains and all) Riley has to play along with Otis's pretend games of football,prom and fake dates to keep from being beaten and burned or worse.As her parents(played by Daniel Stern and Illeana Douglas) slowly track their daughter down with the help of Agent Hotchkiss(Jere Burns).We find Otis is also dealing with an abusive brother Elmo(Kevin Pollak) who beats on an mentally abuses Otis.So we see where Otis is getting some of this craziness from,kind of.
As Riley escapes and reunites with her family her mom starts planning revenge.Her family takes the law in their own hands(so to speak).As Riley's family waits on Otis to show up at his house his brother gets there first but never has a chance to tell them he's not Otis.As the family dances a funny ballet with a shovel,baseball bat and a butcher knife with Elmo they turn the table and start dreaming up ways of payback.They put Elmo through hell still not knowing he's not Otis!
As Agent Hotchkiss interogates poor Riley she starts giving him the information he needs and he calls the family and they find out they've got the wrong guy!Uh oh!The comedy in the disposal of Elmo is priceless!As Otis arrives home to a disaster area he starts pacing and getting more dillusional than ever.Agent Hotchkiss lets the family know that he knows what they did,"he has audio in Dolby Surround"he says.Hotchkiss never finds out it's Elmo.As Riley and her brother order "pizza" and wait on "the pizza delivery guy",the doorbell rings her brother lays shotgun shells into the door,we hear a loud thump,door falls,"is it him"her brother asks.As a body lays on the side walk with the face covered by a bush.So is Otis a goner?Great ending!?I hope there's a sequel to this fun,campy,gory comedy/horror flick!Great cast!I bet it was fun making this movie!
