Open Water Review

When a vacation dive goes wrong two tourists are stranded out in the middle of the ocean with no food and no way of contacting anyone. The people putting on the dive made a mistake with counting and they left these two out there. The thing that makes this movie a bit scarier is the fact that this does and can happen to you....That is one reason why I hate the ocean. This movie is realistic for the most part and potrays reality quite well with common human error and neglegence.

Open Water is not really a horror movie but the idea of this happen to you is horrifying on its own and for that reason I would consider it a degree of horror. The movie isn't very exciting and is pretty boring just watching two people drifting but they add in sharks and jelly fish and stuff like that to add to the movie and keep it exciting, which it kind of  is at points, this movie also builds some good suspense.

But really this movie is pretty dumb, its got a good concept but the movie and the characters and the elaborate scheme is just dumb. The people would notice if someone left their stuff behind and would act sooner than later, they would probably double count on the boat, and they would notice missing equipment, those are three major things right there that apparently no one in this movie did, and these are common sense. So apart from the stupid characters and hole scheme for the movie this was pretty alright.

One thing I liked about this though was the beginning and end of the movies. The beginning set this up as a good little vacation get away and everyone is innocent blah blah blah and they go on their little dive and its all fun, but then the boats gone when they get back up...uh oh. Then I like the end with....well I can't tell you but I did like it :P

Overall Open Water is a pretty okay movie but the characters are dumb and lack common sense, not the ones in the water they are fine and just trying to survive, but the ones on land are dumb...But I would give this movie a 6/10!!!! its nothing special but it kept my interest and built some suspense, plus the ending :D
