Arachnophobia is one of these movies that you overlook at the video store or whereever not knowing what it really is. You think its just some crappy low budget piece of shit but its really a good movie. Arachnophobia was really good and quite fun too, you should really consider watching this it really is good.

Arachnophobia starts off somewhere in South America with a group of scientists, and a photographer, searching for new breeds of spiders. When they find one the big momma of the spiders is taken back to their camp site. When the photographer is bitten he is killed almost instantly and his body is shipped back to his home town, which is quite small and quiet, until that big momma of a spider gets taken back with the body. The big spider ends up at that small town and when a bird snatches it up it drops the spider right outside a house where a family, the dad is played by Jeff Daniels, is moving in. The family find a smaller spider in their moving stuff and put it out in the barn and the big spider and that smaller spider, well they kind of have sex or something I guess lol, and they make a huge egg that spawns hundreds of poisonous spiders that begin to run around the town. Now that townfolks are dying its up to Jeff Daniels character to figure out why, since he is the town doctor, but people don't approve of his methods of autopsys and what not and call him doctor death, until they find out why the people are truly dying.

Jeff Daniels character is deathly afraid of spiders due to a child hood memory of a daddy long leg climbing on him, a bit dumb and some how he remembers that from when he was still wearing diapers lol. Anyways this movie has a pretty good story that makes sense, even though spiders like this probably wouldn't do this for real, it still makes sense. There are plot holes but who cares, this is just a fun spider movie.

I don't watch a lot of spider movies so the only other movie I can really compare this too is Eight Legged Freaks, except in this one the spiders aren't as big and the jokes aren't as out there funny. But I still believe this is a great little movie and I would really recommend checking it out. Jeff Daniels is a kewl guy and a good actor, disregard the fact this movie is PG-13 because it didn't need to be R to work as good as it did. I give Arachnophobia a strong 8/10!!!! It does deserve it and you will probably agree with that.
