BANSHEE!! (2008) Review

I'm a sucker i fell for the old trailer trick of putting all the good bits in the film trailer and making the innocent viewer think " Cor that looks good" only to be disapointed when i see the whole film. This film was premiered on Zone Horror here in Britain, but i'd seen the trailer on IMDB. Film's plot concerns a group of campers being menaced by a shape changing flying creature that screams before it kills and is nicknamed "Banshee"but it  can be disturbed by sound.

This is an odd mishmash of a film with a germ of something good about it , but is defeated by confusing goings on and indifferent acting and doesn't have any particularly likeable characters to root for, film has quite a few scenes where i'm unsure if the humour is intentional or not. A lot of ideas are oinched from better films such as "The Thing", " The Evil Dead,"Pumpkinhead" "Jeepers Creepers""Alien" amongst many others.

The best part of the film is the gory special effects which for the low budget are very well done, and has exploding bodies, exploding heads and a very good arrow through the back of the head and out of the mouth shot and a wince inducing arrow through somebody's leg.All in all not a good film but worth seeing once for the effects.
