Dance of the Dead (2008) Review

All I really have to say about this movie is that it is fucking awesome. If you haven't seen this movie, you need to. Otherwise, you need to kill yourself.

All things considered, this movie has everything. Let's do a run-down.

• Zombie Frogs
• Sexually Frustrated Teenagers
• Alcoholic Teachers
• A Nuclear Power Plant
• Teachers that look like pedophiles
• A creepy gravekeeper
• A shitty rock band
• Zombies that carjack sexually frustrated teenagers

In addition, the script is amazing. The story is tongue-in-cheek and completely predictable, which is precisely why it works so completely. The dialogue is fantastic. It takes a truly gifted person to write dialogue as good as:

"Where y'all going?"
"To the prom, to kick some zombie ass!"

In addition, the acting was passable, at the very least. If nothing else, the delivery of the dialogue was spot on, each actor putting the right inflection and emphasis. The entire feel of the acting had a melodramatic feel, but it completely fits, mostly because it seemed like comedic melodrama was the goal of the movie at large, with a zombie outbreak as a backdrop.

This is a movie that doesn't take itself seriously, and is all the better for it. Watch this movie, or I'll fucking find you!
