Saw Review

Well well well! A horror movie released recently that didn't completely suck! And here I was thinking that most of the goods ones had to be either old or foreign. Yay for you, America!
Saw is probably one of the more disturbing films I've seen lately... and it is also probably one of my favorites. Enter a killer who doesn't really kill people; he lets them do it themselves. Rather than the psycho killer who really doesn't kill for any particular reason, "JigSaw" teaches life lessons through pain. Think of Mr. Rogers minus the niceness and "would you like to be my neighbor" talk... plus he likes to cause pain.
Because I don't want to give ANY of this plot away, you'll have to either go see it or find another review that elaborates a bit more. Let's just say that it's disturbing, frightening, and really quite scary.
The acting could be better; The part of the killer was played amazingly, but the other characters were kind of lacking. Obviously none of the cast had ever really been tortured before. Anyway, all in all it was a pretty good movie. I enjoyed it, own it, and watch it on ocassion.
The reply value isn't very good though, as if you watch it once you've seen it all. There aren't any hidden meanings or tricks that you won't catch on the first time around, and all the shockers are pretty self-explanatory. So yeah, frightening the first time, still disturbing no matter how many times you watch it.
