The Lost Boys (1987) Review
Written by: Gardenofstone10
This is in my top 10 favorite horror movies of all time and for good damn reason...it's one of the most lovable.
Quickie of the plot: Mother and two sons move to a beach in California. Beach and area are infested with lots of people and vampires. Vampires try to convert one of the brothers. Lots of action..
That's really it. Whoever hasn't seen this movie or doesn't know what it's about needs to drop everything and break into their video store and steal it. If it's open, rent it.
What makes this movie classic is that any genre fan loves Corey Feldman. Is he a good actor? No. But he's great at the roles he fits in. Here, we have The Frog Brothers. The teenage vampire knowledge based comic book store operators.
Also a shining star in this movie, Kiefer Sutherland (who worked with Corey Feldman in Stand By Me). He plays one of the lead vampires and really sinks into this role. I was most impressed with his performance.
Also ahead of its time were the effects of the movie. We have explosions, fire, and all sorts of assorted gore. All of it looked quite realistic. Even down to the vampire faces when they become in the mood looks realistic.
Buy it, love it. Peace
