Carrie (1977) Review

I revisited this movie for the first time in like 20 years. I was 7 years old when this movie was made and I almost forgot how wonderfully great this movie really is. And CGI not needed!! Sissy Spacek own the role of Carrie White and did a grand job of it too.

Carrie is about a teenage Girl that was a socal outcast at her highschool and was teased and humiliated by everyone only to come home to a crazy mother that subjected her to intence beatings. basically the kids play the ultimate mean joke by inviting her to the prom only to spill pigs blood on her. Carrie snaps and uses her psychokinesis powers to kill them all. Yes I know ithat is a spoiler but i figure it being a 1976 and a Stephen King movie you already know the gist of the story.

I can relate to the character Carrie White for I as well had an abusive family and was bullied and humiliated by kids when I grew up. I guess its a good thing I do not have telekinesis  Hugh?

This movie is a prime example on how you can have horror and a good scare and have no need for CGI in any way. I give it a 9 out of 10!
