The Fly (1986) is a remake of the 1958 film of the same name but this time the film focuses on two main characters Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldbloom) and Veronica ( Gena Davis).

In the movie Seth is a scientist., a physicist I believe, that runs into Veronica at a party that seems to be for the scientific community. Veronica only wants a big story for the science magazine she works for and trys to milk Seth for a story when Seth seems only interested in getting her in the sack. He takes her home with her and shows his new invention of teleportation but he only can teleport inanimate objects. The movie basically goes into the love affair they fall into, the jealousy of her ex and all the problems that start to happen when he starts experimenting with live animals including himself.

Usually these two actors in particular annoy me to no end and I can not barely watch them on film but in this case they pulled it off well. They both had great chemistry with one another which was needed to make the movie a success.  Croenberg did a good job showing Seths obsession and his descent into madness. This movie is a real tradigy as well as a horror. It is sad and bleak but you feel for these two people till the very sad ending.
