The Fly Review

When a scientific experient goes wrong things turn horribly ugly, literally. Jeff Goldblum stars in this remake directed by David Cronenberg. Although, this isn't a remake for the modern 2000's this is an 80's remake, back when they were down with originality and very well and done by good filmmakers. Anyways, The Fly is about a scientist trying to figure out travel from one machine to another of some sort, where you turn into particles and are beamed to another machine of the same kind, I don't know hard to explain. Anyways, one day Jeff Goldblum's character attempts a travel with a human subject, himself. But, a fly gets trapped in the machine with him, and when he appears at the other side, he's completely normal, on the outside. Over time he begins to change into some hideous thing, he is turning into a fly now because his DNA was spliced with the flies. Now havoc ensues....
The Fly was a very good movie and is probably considered a classic. David Cronenberg is a great director and Jeff Goldblum is a really good actor. Not only that but if the story stands true Mel Brooks had something to do with this movie, and this led to one of my personal favorite stories of surprising the audience. Apparently all these people heard Mel Brooks had something to do with it and they all got excited looking forward to a great comedy, but then they saw these horrific images and stuff and I can only imagine what the reactions were. I don't know if that is true or not but it should be.
Anyways, The gore in this movie is not only somewhat gross but also pretty realistic. When he turns into the fly it looks great, and NO CGI!!!!! So it looks more realistic and even better. The creature looks great, and seeing Jeff change each time you see him is like,, "How much worse can he get?" Then he does get worse!
This is not a children's horror film and this is not your typical monster movie. This is an original and very good movie that stands the test of time. Not only that but its also featured on lists of the best horror movies and what not. This is a must see for the horror community, like us, and you should definitely watch this movie. You shouldn't be dissapointed, but I'm not going to lie this movie can be boring to some people. I give The Fly n 8/10!!!!
