BLACK SHEEP (2006) Review

7 out of 10 Skulls

When i started to watch this film, and after the first 10 minutes or so i feared the worst, this was not impressing me at all, bad acting, not being able to understand much of what was being said even though they were speaking english( well as it's spoken in New Zealand) and not being funny. Then as film went on , it grew on me and i was sucked in, film gets better and better as it goes along it may be slow moving but it is all done in a good hearted tongue in cheek wayl

A lot of it is frickin hilarous! the sheep are great the way the real ones are filmed just standing and staring at the camera, some of the attack scenes are clearly just toy cuddly sheep being held by the victim. It is of course  a film for zombie lovers of which i am one, subsituting human zombies for zombie sheep who in the film's gore drenched finale they do as good  a job as their two legged friends do in their respective movies.

The effects that i mentioned were bad ( proberly deliberatley so) in the early part of the film get a lot better and you have some impressive weresheep transformations that could give the effects in "The Howling" a run for it's money.I also liked how the effect of the sheep running to get their victims from the hills was well done. The film is funny, call me juvenile but i am a sucker for fart jokes and we get some here from the sheep, and i love the fiery ending, and the little parody of the cliched twist ending. All in all  a enjoyable, entertaining film, with some gory effects that are very well done, and i have to mention the zombie sheep victim who picks up his gnawed off leg and throws it at a sheeps head, that cracked me up!
