Deadgirl (2008) Review

This is a crazy ass movie... I had no idea how "Deadgirl" was going to unfold before me, but man what a wild little ride that was!

The basic plot of the movie is, two buddies, Rickie & J.T. play hooky from school one day. What do you do on a hot boring day? Luckily Rickie brought some beer, so they decide to go to a run down insane asylum to waste away the day. So they break in, suck back a few brews and start tossing things around for a bit. They then decide to check out the lower floors. Pushing through an old door that was rusted shut, they make a discovery that will affect both of them in such different ways.

What do they find? Well they find the aforementioned title of this indie flick. Who is she? where did she come from? These questions didn't really matter too much to them because they had their own motives. Well one of them did anyways, while the other was so against what was going on, but didn't really do anything about how he really felt inside. Rickie had his own ideas of what to do while J.T. was against what was happening.

This is really one of the better indie films I have seen in quite awhile. Its very sexually abusive though, but at the same time it's like WTF is going on here. I found it freakily interesting to see where it goes. I don't want to give to much here, but I think it's a film every horror fan should view.

The only thing I didn't like about it was the acting. The script was top notch but most of the guys acted like they were 14 with whiny little voices, but if you can overlook that shortcoming, there is a wicked little film to behold.

I would have given it an 8 but I have to give it a 7 for the piss poor whiny acting.
