Storm of The Century Review

Storm of the Centry is a movie by Stephen King that from what I have heard was a movie before it became a book ( I do not know if that is true or not). The movie is about a stranger named (Andre Linoge) arriving at a small costal town bringing with him the worst snow storm in 100 years. The repetative message is simple "Give me what i want and I will go away."
This movie is super long meaning 6 hours long but it is well worth it. The story is told from the point of view from a man named Mike Anderson (Tim Daly from the 90's TV show Wings). Linoge appears to know a dark secret about everyone in town: the constable who cheated on his exam to get through college, the pregnant girlfriend having an abortion without telling her boyfriend, and the town manager not being around his mother when she dies because he's having an affair. This aspect of the movie is what really works and is what King excels best at---assigning each character a dark side and bringing it out in a cynical and sarcastic manner. Linoge is superior to the townspeople in terms of raw (mystical) power and there are plenty of chills and thrills as he exercises it. Finally, the townspeople are faced with a choice: the threat of destruction or giving into Linoge's demands. The ending is classic King: there is no neat resolution and no tidying up of the loose threads, which in my view is how good horror should be.
The Acting is Ok and its typical of any made for TV miniseries. The only hard thing about this film is its long length. I feel it could have been condenced down a bit.
