Troma's War Review
6 out of 10 Skulls
Written by: Googopqp

I have to admit, I'm pretty dissapointed in this one....I thought Troma's War was gunna be this fun and cheezy action fest taht was freaking hilarious, but what it really is is a semi boring cheezy action fest that is funny on occasion but mostly just stupid and overly silly. But, we can't love them all....Regardless of taht tho, this movie does offer up A LOT of cheezy fun action sequences and full of blood and squibs and thats always good. The acting is typical for Troma, (which if you couldn't tell YES this is a Troma film), bad and fun and sometimes over the top. Plus, you get to see Joe Fleishaker, who is a 300 hundred pounce man, doing rolls and being an ACTION HERO!

Troma's War is about a plane crash on an island and the survivors of the plane crash having to fight for their lives against a group of terrorists who are stationed on that island. These survivors must rise up to the heroes they are in order to defeat these soldiers of mass destruction. But, the only reason the terrorists are attacking the survivors is because they think they are American soldiers sent in to take them out, but the only reason the survivors are fighting back is to save America and the hostages. Or something like that :).

Scene after scene this movie involves guns and violence and people just falling over for the heck of it. Is there blood? Oh yes, yes there is. Plus this movie supposedly has more squibs used than any other movie....now thats an achievement!

One thing I really liked about this movie was its 80's feel. You could most definitely tell this movie was made in the 80's, from the dress to the awesome action soundtrack that just fits right in. But the thing I didn't like about this movie was the dumb forced humor, like a guy with a nose similar to a pig who snorts a lot, and at points I found myself drifting into sleep, which is surprising cause I LOVE TROMA! BUY TROMA!!!!

Troma's War is directed by Lloyd Kaufman AND Michael Herz, but Kaufman goes under his alias Samuel Weil. So I guess that explains the silly humor to the movie, but thats also why it must have dissapointed me, on that level I mean. Cause, Toxic Avenger was fun and funny....but...well you get the picture!

The special features on the disc are AMAZING and loaded as always from Troma! I've yet to watch the commentaries but will one day. But action packed in both movie and features, thats always a good thing!

But, with everything said and done and here to there, I still say check this movie out if your a fan of Troma. But if not, then you should probably stay away from this. This is a fun little action flick, but nothing to cheer over. I give Troma's War a 6/10!!!!
