The Last House On The Left (2009) Review

9 out of 10 Skulls

From the first scene of this movie to the very, very end, you can't help yourself but to be glued to the screen.

Quick, nonspoiler, plot:

Movie starts out with us establishing our bad guys.  Then cuts to the two girls showing their friendship.  Hell breaks loose from there.

That's about all I can say about the movie without spoiling it, specifically at least.

This movie is a show all crazy ride.  I mean, we have drug use, a rape scene and a half, murder a couple times and mostly, brutality.  The original wasn't really that good of a movie so I thought this would follow the footsteps but this one stands tall above the original.  This is one of the better movies I've seen this year.

My main concern with this movie would have been the soundtrack choice.  Recent remakes like Friday the 13th and My Bloody Valentine, although both great movies, had an inappropriate soundtrack that cheesed up the movie a bit.  This movie didn't have that at all.  This went back to the days of creepy music, ominous music.  It's perfect.

Another very convincing part of the movie was the acting.  The bad guys, victims and the family were all perfectly casted to the point where I didn't know it was a movie.  I don't even want to know how people can learn to act like that just short of actually experiencing this.

If you have seen the movie, you will get this......I will NEVER, EVER look at a microwave the same way again!

Rent this, buy this, win it on the site, get your fucking hands on this movie right now.  Peace.
