Written by: The Creature
This is The Creaute speaking (typing) here. I am new here and also have never written a review in my life, but .....here goes nothin'!
The original "The Last House on the Left" is absolutly great. I love this film. In fact, I love this film so much, It's on my Top 10 Favorite Horror Movies List. I'm sure everybody knows the plot of this film, but just in case there's some poor soul out there who hasn't seen this film, well, this is for them:
Two teenagers are on there way to a "Bloodlust" rock concert, when they are kidnapped by a gang of criminals or "horney old pigs" as they had referred to themselves in the film. The two teenagers are drivin' into the woods, a place where......no one can here them scream. Muh ha ha ha ha! That's when the film gets really serious. The two young girls are savagly beat, told to have sex with each other, both raped, and then eventually killed and dumped into the forest pond. After this, the gang of criminals find a house to stay in, which is owned by a middle aged man and woman. Soon, the criminals find out that the man and woman living in the home, are the parents one of the girls they killed. Once the parents find out that the group of criminals killed their daughter, they decide to create brutal vengence. And then all hell breaks loose!
The Last House on the Left was written, directed, and I believe edited, by one of the greatest horror directors of all time. You all know his name. The awesomely great Wes Craven! The film was produced by another great name we all know. Sean S. Cunningham! So when you have two brilliant people work on a film together, what do you get? A brilliant film of course!
Oh, and I would like to comment on a certaint scene. The scene where the two teenage girls (Mari and Phyllis) are told to have sex with each other. Wow. It was so very disturbing. And for scene like that to come out in 1972? People were shocked by this film.
So in conclusion, if you have not seen this film, you better go and buy it. It's one classic horror film you do not want to miss. This film is ballsy, disturbing, and surprisingly...... fun!
