Splinter - like splinter from teenage mutant ninja turtles?

No. More like infectious fungi spike splinters that infect living organisms, control them, and eat them alive.

I got lucky seeking entertaining horror films to be enjoyed.. I came across a couple of new reviews raving about how good splinter was n blah blah.. so decided to see for myself.

Splinter is a very entertaining creature horror film - not the most original of stories, but executed very well. The story goes a bit like; a group of chumps caught in a petrol station trying to escape a hostile spikey mushroom. Trust me.. its better than it sounds.

Overall... its an enjoyable film from start to finish. Not the usual characters you would find in this type of survival film. Im guessing the budget was a low one, because there could have been a bit more in the way of effects... but the director did an exceptional job using what he had.. gory and very effective. Imagine what he could have achieved with a larger budget.
