The Lost Boys Review

When a family, a mom and her two sons, move in with the mom's dad in California they find they are in something they really don't want to be. Not only does the sign coming in say the murder capital of the world, but there are strange dissapearances everywhere and everyone has an awesome 80's punk look, would you trust them? Anyways, when Michael (the older of the two boys) gets involved with the wrong group of people they make him drink from a weird glass of wine, but is it wine? Or is it something else? After that Michael begins to change. He becomes more attitude-ish to his family members and he can...fly? Yes, he is flying a bit in the beginning because he doesn't know what's happening to him. Michael's little brother finds two brothers named the Frog brothers and they tell him how the place they just moved in to is infested with vampires! The group Michael got involved with turns out to BE vampires and they must find a way to kill the head vampire and save Michael from being what he now is!
I really liked this movie, A LOT! Its like a perfect 80's film done to the music and the dress style. Everything about it SCREAMS the 80's and me...well I'm a huge 80's film fan, even though I wasn't around back then.
The Lost Boys is one of the best and mainstream vampire movies out there and even though its mainstream-ish its still a movie that ALL vampire film fans should enjoy. Its got the basic idea of the vampires followed well and they even throw in a lot of really enjoyable characters, like the Frog Brothers!!!!!!! Kiefer Sutherland stars as the bad guy in this movie and he is probably the best actor, actor wise in this movie. Besides that the other actors do good enough jobs to make the movie passable with decent acting! Really, its not bad acting like some might expect but...yeah. Oh yeah, did I mention one of the Frog Brothers is played by Corey Feldman? Thats right! :P
One thing I really really liked about this movie, which I mentioned before, is the 80's soundtrack. I LOVED the main theme for this movie SOOOOOOOO much! I honestly did, "Thall shall not beeeeeeeee..." is just a great song to hear, it really gets you into the mood with this movie! I loved that so much, since I have a true love for both horror and music its great when the two are mixed so well!
This movie isn't a gory film, its got a few gory scenes to it but its really nothing over the top or anything, its just normal and tame. So if your a gore hound looking for a gory movie you'll be dissapointed on that level!
Really, if you havn't seen this movie, you really should. If you like vampire movies and the 80's then you'll really enjoy this movie. Its a great film and a classic of its time! I give The Lost Boys a deserving 8/10!!!!
