Jennifer's Body Movie Review
Written by: Googopqp There is something wrong with Jennifer, ever since the night that her and her BFF Needy witnessed a bar burning down and many people dying. Jennifer got into a van with an indie band and after that she has changed. Jennifer laughs at the deceased class mates and acts like she is all that. Her friend Needy doesn't understand what is wrong with her, but then, people start turning up murdered! Jennifer is some sort of demon now ever since that night and she is murdering boys after seducing them! But what happened that night when Jennifer got into the van of the now ultra popular indie band? And is there a way to stop it? This movie surprised me, to be honest, it really did. I thought I was gunna go into it and think some of it was pretty kewl or what not but actually the movie got my interest and kept it and it was really enjoyable. Even though Megan Fox doesn't get naked she still goes lesbian on her best friend...but don't think that is all this film is about, its really about a girl possessed by evil to kill people. There are some good gore scenes, but unfortunately no gory scenes....what I mean is they show the aftermath but not the current, they don't show anyone dying or being ripped apart they just show what happened to them, and that sucked, I wanted to see some kewl scenes and there are none....except for the opening scene when a woman gets punched in the face, taht was just funny. The acting was actually pretty good, no one really did a bad job and I liked it! Even Megan Fox did a decent job playing Jennifer, although not doing what everyone is truly seeing this movie for....naked! :P, but who cares, she didn't need to! Also, J.K. Simmons actually has a pretty big role and I really liked that, he is always kewl! Apart from the acting, the story is good and I liked it, it kept my attention. Diablo Cody is a good writer and she knows her stuff! The director, Karyn Kusama, wasn't bad either! I think the one thing I liked most about this movie was the music/song choice. The metal soundtracked fit really well at times in the film and I always like a good metal soundtrack! Now, don't think I'm just giving this movie a great review cause I'm not, I'm just saying the stuff I liked, now to the stuff I didn't care for! The movie is slow, and although it has some kewl moments to it, nothing really pays off in the end! They don't have very many gore scenes and really there are only four scenes in the movie with violence or whatever. There were other times in the movie where I was like, wow, what the hell is going on, because they go from one scene directly to another without anything in between and its like, what the hell? They used the same trick like three times, of Jennifer walking one way and appearing somewhere else, and that got a bit old fast! The also seemed to fall into cliches and typicalness a lot...You know when someone is going to die and since they show you the ending, or the outcome, in the beginning you know exactly what happens the rest of the film! Now of course that was intended and not really a downfall to the movie, but it just makes the rest seem...I don't know, weird to explain. Lastly, I didn't like how TAME the movie was, its like a PG-13 hororr film in disguise, really the only thing that makes it R is the language and the sex, besides that the violence and what not is tame as shit! Overall, its not a bad film, its actually pretty interesting and has some kewl moments to it. Like when Jennifer is smiling, thats pretty creepy looking for some! I would say check this movie out, but keep expectations low, its nothing you havn't seen before, but its alright! I give Jennifer's Body a 6/10!!!!
