Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed (2004) Review
Written by: Danielle1989
I was a bit hesitant to watch this movie, it is rare that a sequel can live up to the original. And well, this movie did not disappoint. We pick up where we left off. Brigette is now infected, and is slowly transforming in to the monster that she had to kill. We see her transformation take a different route than Ginger's. I guess it's where Brigette is not welcoming the change like Ginger did instead she's trying to fight it and possibly cure it. But soon finding out that the "cure" is not a cure at all, it just slows the process.
The majority of the movie takes place in a mental institution where Brigitte is admitted after a werewolf attack she faced prior that evening, and they of course suspect that she is a drug addict who needs help. We are introduced to all new characters, with the absence of Ginger they had to balance that out I guess,of which all did a fantastic job. Once again these characters influence certain events both good and bad, mostly bad. The film is not all that scary, but it is certainly full of gore. As well, there is the character "Ghost" played by Tatiana Maslany who is just obsessed with the occult and death, as much as Ginger was. We see Brigitte take a liking to her (eventually), as if she were her sister and Ghost has no objection to anything of the sort. Things aren't always what they seem. And this movie is about deception, manipulation and revenge.
I don't want to give away too much, it's just overall a really good werewolf movie. If you liked the first one, then you'll like this one. So just watch it.
