Zombieland (2009) Review

BEST MOVIE EVER!  Not really, but it's damn close. 

Plot:Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin are the best combination of actors.  I'm going to use their real names for this review.  Jesse thinks he's all alone.  Wandering Texas after a zombie outbreak, Jesse goes over the basic rules of survival.  Along the way, he finds Woody. 

They join forces until they are tricked by Emma and Abigail, sisters fighting for survival.  It's a back and forth all the way east and west across America aka Zombieland. 

That's really it.  This movie mashes together a brutal combination of horror, comedy, slapstick with a small hint of drama and romance. 

Quick side point, there is a beautiful cameo from a very funny celebrity and it's probably my favorite cameo in a movie EVER.  It was the best scene in the movie. 

The first thing that grabbed me about this movie was the soundtrack.  The movie started off with Metallica and just got better from there.  To me, that's the kind of music that would rule the world if infested with zombies. 

Upon completion of the movie, I had a conversation with my best friend about if this movie is really horror.  I believe that "horror" is such a wide open genre it has everything from The Girl Next Door to...Zombieland.  Ultra hyper serious to so much laugh out loud fun.  We came to a conclusion on the movie...It's a Splatter Comedy.  Blood and guts everywhere....all while the whole theater filled with laughs.  I love laughing and I love watching guts go from innies to outties. 

This movie really hit the mark.  It has hype.  I lives up to the hype.  It exceeds the hype.  Woody Harrleson is now one of my favorite actors. 

Final Note:  There is a quasi scene after the credits that will get in one last chuckle.  See this movie NOW.  Peace.
