Zombieland Review

9 out of 10 Skulls

I hate it when movies come out...become overhyped....and I end up disliking them a bit just for that! Zombieland, I've been waiting for this movie ever since I saw the trailer months and months ago....it looked awesome and I couldn't wait to see it. Then the Red Band trailer came out and I wanted to see this movie EVEN more, which I didn't think was possible. Then it happened, the movie finally came out. And all of a sudden, raving reviews came from EVERYWHERE! On this site alone, 9/10's 10/10's and the rare 8/10's were everywhere for the movie, with a 93% approval status. Rottentomatoes gathered up reviews and a impressive 89% was what standed! Thats amazing for a horror film, and then....I finally saw it.....all this build up and waiting, but did it pay off? Was it all taht its set up to be? HELL FUCKING YES!

Now I don't want to lie, this is probably my favorite horror film of the year! Easily...Its so much fun, fast paced, and hilarious that I can't see a reason for anyone disliking it! Honestly, this movie has been being very hyped up, and it deserves every ounce it can get, every scene I was smiling, laughing, and just genuinely having a blast! Now its not the greatest zombie movie ever made, but its probably gunna make it into my top 10 list of zombies! My GOD! Was I pumped for this film, and I'm so so so glad it paid off! GO SEE THIS MOTHER FUCKING MOVIE NOW!...after reading the rest of the review ;) no spoilers added :)

Zombieland is about a little nerdy geeky type World of Warcraft kid, Jesse Eisenberg, trying to survive in the zombie apocalypse with his 31 rules to survival. Throughout the movie you are introduced to a few rules like, #1 CARDIO, #4 Wear Your Seatbelt...etc. And he eventually meets up with a tough shit guy who plays by no rules Tallahasse, played by Woody Harrelson. Tallahasse likes to name people by where they are headed rather then their actual names so he calls Eisenberg's character Columbus. They try to survive and make it to their destinations, and for Tallahasse find the last remaining Twinkies on the earth! when they soon run into two sisters who con them and steal their cars, the older played by Emma Stone and the younger Abigail Breslin. But...of course the four eventually group up and the sisters are headed to an amusement park so the younger of the two can feel like a kid again! But of course...this is Zombieland....so that won't be easy!

Just from the start and opening credits of this movie I knew I was gunna love it! It starts off with telling some of the rules that Eisenberg lives by and how others forgot to follow these rules and paid the price....by being eaten! But its done in this silly but comedic way that I couldn't help but crack up laughing at! Especially Rule #4 ;) Also, the opening credit sequence are these slow motion shots of people running from zombies and it actually looks pretty kewl! There is literally nothing I didn't like about this movie!

Now, the only things I didn't like about this movie were the length and the sometimes too quick shots of zombie brain splatter head shots....the first is the one I was like...aww man its over :( cause its so much fun you just wanna see the movie again! And the second I was just like, hm...so his head just blew open but you can't tell :( but thats really it....lol Besides taht its just perfect, and has this great cameo appearance that seems to stop the movie in its tracks to do, but its worth it! Everyone probably has heard who makes this appearance but my lips are sealed! Its a great little appearance and made me laugh almost nonstop!

All throughout the movie there are gore, laughs, but most of all, great loveable fun characters taht you really don't hate! You want them to survive! And this was a good thing, another thing, the actors had great chemistry. Woody and Abigail were like father and daughter (not literally) and it was fun watching them interact with one another! Actually, for a movie like this, it was surprising on most parts seeing it so well like this! Its not a masterfull movie but its great fun and very enjoyable on almost every level!

Overall, this is a must see for the year, its probably the best horror film of the year! For me anyways, its hard to say its better than District 9 but its definitely a lot more fun and has a rewatchability to it and I loved this movie....Go out and see it now! Enjoy the movie, and laugh, bring friends, bring the whole family! Actually, besides the little amounts of gory scenes in the beginning and end mostly, this would be a fun and great movie for the whole family, over 10 at least....Its great, go see it now! I give Zombieland the proud 9/10 it deserves!!!!!!!!
