House of 1000 Corpses Review

I was expecting more out of this film.  I won't get into the plot (or lack of) too much but rather I will tell you why I gave it only 6 stars.

First, I did not find the characters terribly compelling.  I felt they were quite boring and lacked any depth.  The story line was so weak that I found myself zoning out.  I had to mentally work to stay in touch with the film.

As far as gore goes, it was for the most part meaningless.  No substance whatsoever.  I saw this flick because of other positive reviews.  Either they had their movies confused or they aren't true horror flick aficionado's.

This movie is good to watch if you have nothing else going on.  Its not horrible but its not something you will want to watch again.  Rob Zombie's next film, Devil Rejects, is much better than this, his first film.  See Devils Rejects.  I gave that 9 stars.
