Night of the Living Dead is a horror classic loved by pretty much every fan of the horror genre, including myself. And if you find someone who doesn't like the original Night of the Livng Dead, well then it just shows how little that someone knows. And if you yourself are a horror fan, chances are you are, and if you haven't seen this film, please get a life and go see it. Because I promice you, this is one horror film you won't want to miss.
Night of the Living dead came out in black and white in 1968. At the time, audiences were shocked by this movie. They were scared out of their God damned minds. It was even reported that during a showing at the cinema, a little girl sat all scrunched down in her theature seat crying her eyes out because in this film, the good guys didn't alway win against the evil. Or should we say the gouls?
Night of the Living Dead was directed by the king of zombie films. His name being, George A. Romero. Who is responsible for other zombie classics such as, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, and Land of the Dead.
Here's some quick facts about the film. The screenplay was written by George Romero and John Russo, as originally, a horror comedy titled "Monster Flick." Of course all that changed into something evern more special. Night was made on a budget of $114,000, and grossed a revenue of #42,000,000. Pretty impressive right? Night was very well influenced by a horror novel titled, "I Am Legend," which was made into a movie with The Last Man on Earth, The Omega Man, and the 2007 remake with Will Smith, having the same title as the novel.
Night of the Living Dead is an awesome classic, and should be seen, and mostly is seen, by every horror movie fan.
