Pontypool (2009) Review
Written by: Gardenofstone10
I've been wanting to see this for a while so let's see:
Plot:
Pontypool, Ontario, Canada is the setting for this movie. We follow a radio crew, head by jockey, Grant. There is some sickness that turns people into seemingly zombies by hearing certain words.
To survive, they have to find a way to communicate with the words they are saying not meaning what they normally mean. Yes is no, basically.
This is a really cool movie because it's a lot of talk. I'm a fan of dialog heavy movies like anything Tarantino does.
I know the makers of the film don't want it called a zombie movie, but I'm going to call it that. This is one of the only zombie movies that focus on a cure. I really like that aspect. Of course, the chop 'em up zombie movies are fun, but to have a zombie movie that requires thought....brilliant!
I only gave it an 8 instead of a 10 because for what I was expecting, I expected a little more gore. I knew it wouldn't be over the top because I knew it was a radio based movie. It stuck true to that throughout the film which I applaud.
This is a high recommendation of mine so find it any way you can and enjoy Pontypool. Peace.
