Event Horizon Review

10 out of 10 Skulls

This is one of THE scariest futuristic movies ever. Sam Neil plays Dr. Weir the brains behind the Event Horizon, we also have Laurence Fishburn Captain of the ship sent out to retrieve the hellish vessel. From the minute they find the ship you catch yourself telling the screen to go home, just leave, nothing good can come of it.

And nothing does. There is plenty of gore, blood, scares and screams. You take a turn with each of the crew members, even Dr. Weir as they face their own personal demons courtesy of the cursed ship. The theme behind "Event" is that no one knows where it went for sure the whole time it was missing, we get grotesque glimpses but nothing for sure.

The movie raises questions about hell... could hell be a place we could reach. Would we want to? Yeah...right can I get a big Hell no? The actors are excellent in this movie. Sam Neill is soft spoken and not what you would expect to be a great horror actor, but its his soft spoken nice guy image that makes him so believable when he gets down and dirty. He never looses that "Mr nice guy" stance even when hes informing Fishburn that hes taking them all back to hell. Great movie, it still scares me every time I watch it!!!
