The Fourth Kind Review

10 out of 10 Skulls

I got to see THE FOURTH KIND last night.  I had been intrigued by the trailer and the more that I saw it in front of other movies, the more excited I became.

I am fascinated by the question of our place in the universe and by the question of with whom we are sharing the seeming infinity of space, and it was evident from the trailer that this movie would be dealing with this question in an unconventional and thoughtful way.

I appreciated the serious tone that was established from the beginning when the filmmakers laid their cards on the table and told us that the movie would be a mix of dramatization and real footage.  Once it started, it turned into one of the most terrifying movies I have ever seen.  It finds the horror in the aftermath, in how the abduction experience affects its poor victims, and on the larger scale of how helpless humanity might actually be . . .
