The Fourth Kind (2009) Review

In the theater I went to, I was the ONLY person who liked this movie.
The movie switches between "actual" footage and the actors reenacting the footage of what happened in Nome, Alaska.
Milla Jovovich is Dr Abigail Tyler. A psychologist in Nome who is grieving the loss of her husband. Then, her patients all encounter some weird stuff.
They all see this owl outside their window. Then it comes into their room at nights and smiles at them....only it's not an owl. That's all I can say without spoiling anything.
Now, without telling you what happens, the movie does PSA's at the beginning and end about how it's a real story and it's our choice, as the viewer, to decide if it's real or not.
SPOILERS..........SPOILERS..........SPOILERS............
The movie claims that all that happened was real and that their actual footage was just that...but it's not. Which made me enjoy the movie more because one of the "actual" footage scene shows a guy killing his wife, two kids and himself. Which is fucked up. Knowing that makes me enjoy this movie a lot more
All in all, it was a freaky movie. I jumped a few times and it had an all around tense atmosphere. I think a lot of people hated the movie because of what it showed in its actual footage. Or many when the aliens speak and say I Am God. But it was a good movie. Not movie of the year. Nowhere close. But Milla Jovovich can do no wrong. Peace.
