Route 666  quite possibly one the worst movies I have ever watched…. I kept expecting that it couldn't get any worse and then lo and behold, it would get much worse. Shall I list the problems ?

1. The acting: There was a huge amount of overacting in Route 666, we start out with Jack La Roca (Lou Diamond Phillips--surprise surprise  ) and Steph (Lori Petty) at a bar with no name acting foolishly and annoying the piss out of Rabbit aka Fred (Stephen Williams). Steph's voice alone is enough to make you want to drive an icepick into your eardrums. Watching her on screen makes you want to drive the ice pick through her head…. If that wasn't bad enough, you have the other U.S. Marshalls who are like a group of kindergarteners who argue over the stupidest things. And at one point, as they are being chased by members of the Russian mob, two of the Marshalls actually get into the back seat of their Suburban and make out! This is also during the time that Jack and the head kindergarten , PT (Dale Midkiff)  are having a scuffle because PT finds out that Jack's father was a bank robber. What kind of professionals are these? The award for worst actor in this film though goes to PT.  He was so over the top in his acting I actually felt ill.

2. The camera shots: I should have known when the opening credits rolled that something was going to be very annoying with the camera work in Route 666. They tried to make it look like you were driving over pavement and each time the camera went over the white line in the road it would flash up another credit. I fast forwarded because it was just plain annoying..and during the kill scenes I swear the cameraman had a bad case of epilepsy or something….

3. The kill scenes: No gore, no blood, no guts and no good. Fake looking grayish ghosts. (I've seen better Halloween costumes on 12 yr olds)

It was really too bad because the concept of the film was actually quite interesting. After some inmates tried to run, the local sheriff decided to teach them a lesson and thus began years of death and torture along a little stretch of road the locals liked to call Route 666. The road has since been closed down for many years because of bizarre accidents that seemed to befall its travelers.

The son of one of the prisoners is lured back by fate years later to put his father's soul to rest and right the wrongs that were done to him and his inmate friends years ago. It did have a chance of working if it weren't for bad acting, bad camera work and boring kill scenes.  and the worst scene of all ??  Lou Diamond Phillips and Lori Petty playing kissy face in the first 5 min of the movie.. >gag<  stay away from the film kiddies...stay away
