Carriers Review

I am not sure how to describe this movie but I know for sure I liked it. I was expecting to hate it truthfully for i rather loathe lower budget flicks.
First thing that pleasantly surprised me is all the known faces in this move that added to the good story and really good acting. We have Chris Pine (Star Trek), Christopher Meloni (Law and Order) and a few others.
The movie is basically about a group of 4 young adults trying to out last a pandemic threatening to wipe out the human population. These kids are heading out to a beach front property where they apparently spent time at in childhood, thinking it would be the perfect isolated place to wait it out. During their journey they face a few obsticles that lead them to do some drastic things like killing others to survive and abandoning their infected loved ones so the others can survive.
A few things I feel that can be improved about this movie is that there was no prelude to the story. The story takes place well into the pandemic but there is no background story given that will lead up to that point. Also there is no gore what so ever. You see one good look at an infected person that leads you to believe that its is some sort of flesh eating virus that is plaguing the world but other than that you just see some infected with some rather nasty rashes. I am not really bothered by the lack of horror in this movie for after all this was not a big budget flick and I feel they pulled off the story quite well given that.
Over all I give it a 6 out of 10. its well worth the cost of the rental. The movie is rather slow moving but the movie has a great script/dialog.
