"Sid, we're going to save the fucking world...right now!"  -- Grant

It's a cold winter day in the town of Pontypool, Ontario.  Grant Mazzy, an outspoken radio host is in for another  winter shift at radio 6-60. However, this shift isn't going to be  typical . Before noon, the station receives breaking news about a supposed riot not far from where they are broadcasting . As the story unfolds, we learn that the riot is in fact the result of some sort of outbreak. People are roaming the streets, killing each other. One caller describes the attackers as dog-like cannibals. It's up to Grant and his producers Sidney and Laurel-Anne to get the facts straight, and report on what's happening outside the staion.

I knew from the beginning that this movie would not have much gore. Thats o.k. As it turns out I was in the mood for on old fashined scary movie. Having said that, the beginning  of Pontypool was pretty good. It was exactly what I anticipated. It had a great  eerie feel to it. And as the tension built up, I found myself on the edge of my seat. Unfortunately, the second half of the film wasn't as great.  Once the characters attempted  to explain the phenomena that was happening in the town of Pontypool, the movie lost its appeal. It just seemed like a bunch of nonesense. I guess I just found it hard to suspend belief for this one.
