Quote from the film: " That's reality !" Wilson Wyler Concannon
A horror enthusiast named Tyler investigates the mystery behind a slasher film from the 80's called "The hills run red." The film is notorious because few have seen it, and those involved in the making of it have been missing for years. The only proof that "The hills run red"even exists is an old trailer promising unrestrained violence. Tylers search picks up momentum when he meets the directors' daughter, who leads him and his friends to the woods where the film takes place. It's there that they encounter "Baby face," the homicidal maniac portrayed in the trailers.
The Hills Run Red is an overall satisfying independent slasher. There is plenty of brutal horror action and a few compelling twists in the story. And the acting was o.k too. What bothered me about this film was the killer. Everytime he appeared on screen I thought of another deformed masked maniac called Jason Vorhees. I have to admit, their origins are completely different, and the story as a whole is really nothing like friday the 13th, but killer to killer, I thought they were kind of interchangeable.
