Shutter Island Review

As other reviews for Shutter Island have said, this review will be somewhat short as to not reveal spoilers.
Shutter Island is about a marshal sent out, along with his partner, to investigate a missing person who disappeared without a trace and against all odds. As the story unfolds, multiple mysteries pop up.
The acting in the film was amazing. DiCaprio is a fantastic actor who unfortunately, for a long time, was not getting roles that showcased his talent. This film DOES. All the cast did a great job at pulling off their characters including the extras and bit part players.
Visually this movie was great. The atmosphere as well as the music were perfection and really set the tone for the film.
This film is an intelligent film and does have suspenseful moments when necessary. It grabs and holds onto your attention from beginning to end despite its one major flaw...
This film, in my opinion, was the most predictable film I have seen in many years. After only 10min into the movie, I had called the "surprise twist" ending. This fact would have ruined the entire movie going experience had the acting and writing not been done so well.
The movie is most definitely worth a watch however I wouldnt waste $10-11 seeing it in theaters. Wait for DVD and give it a rent.
