Rec 2 Review

Rec 2 was a fun, gory and fast paced movie but also ruins some things from the first that made it so creepy. The movie starts out with a S.W.A.T team entering the building from the first, one thing leads to another and eventually you find out that the chief of the S.W.A.T team is a priest. Now here's where I think they messed up, he was sent there to get a blood sample from the original infected so that he can find a cure.

He started to explain the origins of the infection and from the way I understood it they basically made demonic possession into an infection. I liked the mystery of what the infection was and did not like how it changed how I viewed the Infected, they could have made a whole prequel movie explaining the origin. But it was cut short with a 5 minute explanation. From here on the infected could be stopped by a prayer and could change their voices. Now I didn't hate this movie it just didn't measure up to the first.
