Land of the Dead Review

Land of the Dead was a major dissapointment for me. Yeah sure they had kickarse weapons, uber awesome vehicles and some nudity, but that doesn't make up for SMART zombies. SMART ZOMBIES?! WHAT THE HELL? I thought the bastardization would end with RUNNING zombies but noooo, they had to make em' smart.

The zombies figure out how to use knives, jackhammers, guns and gas tanks for bombs! The 'leader' zombie is the worst; he 'cares' for his zombies. He pushes other zombies down to help them dodge driveby's, he cries out in anger when he sees other zombies being used for target practice, and when he finally takes over the city, he LEAVES because 'his work there is done', bleh.

There was a buttload of symbolisms like Krisha said. Did you notice that there wasn't a SINGLE truly good BLACK guy? Yeah, i bet you did. The only black characters in the movie were the zombie leader and the butler, and they were both on the dark side. There were a buncha other "hey that looks like a symbol for something" symbols, but i'm sure you noticed them so there's no point in mentioning them all.

Last note is about John Leguizamo's character... I feel sorry for that guy. Too many bad things happen to him, it's too much! He couldn't even avenge himself as a zombie! tsk tsk tsk
