Predators Movie Details: DVD, Theatre Date, News, Trailers & More Predators Review
9 out of 10 Skulls
Written by: Suspiria_89

In 1987 the phenomenal film Predator was released. To this day it remains one of my favorite science fiction/horror movies. It was the perfect blend of sci fi and horror and it introduced us to some of the most memorable movie characters. Being a huge fan of the original I wasn’t exactly happy about the reboot at first. But the worry turned to excitement after watching the trailers and reading a lot of positive reviews. After watching the film I can now see why it’s been getting such good reviews. Although it’s not a perfect film, I can honestly say it’s one of the most entertaining films I’ve seen in a long time. And in the end, that’s what matters most.

Plot: A group of elite warriors are hunted by members of a merciless alien race known as Predators. -IMDB. That’s about all you need to know.

If you’re looking for a good way to burn a couple of hours, you really need to see this movie. It’s not a artsy masterpiece, it’s simply a fun and entertaining horror/sci fi flick. It starts off with a bang and never lets up. It’s very fast paced and the action scenes are nicely spaced. The characters are all interesting in their own way and the cast members did a great job portraying each one. Especially Adrien Brody and Topher Grace. Topher’s character is very interesting and at times supplies us with some comic relief and Brody’s character is a hardcore badass and I must say that for a brief moment I was convinced that Adrien Brody was actually a badass. But then I remembered he was Adrien Brody and that notion quickly went out of the window. Like the acting, the special effects were also pretty descent. There was some pretty non-impressive CGI at times but at this day and age that is to be expected. Fortunately all of the predators looked awesome and the guys who played them did a great job. The movie itself looks fantastic and was nicely shot. Most of the cinematography looks great and Nimrod Antal did a fantastic job directing. I also have to mention how great the music was and I was pleased that they kept all of the awesome original music.

One of my biggest concerns going into the film was with the violence. I had heard that the film wasn’t violent enough but in my opinion its got just enough. The film does in fact focus more on the survival of the characters but there is still some awesome violence. For example, we see spines ripped out, several awesome stabbing scenes, one totally exploding human and a good bit of predator gore. Including a couple of truly amazing scenes. Which I will not spoil for you.

The only thing I did not like about Predators is the ending. It wasn’t a bad ending but it didn’t come to much of a conclusion. But don’t let that stop you from going to see the movie.

Overall Predators is one hell of a fun popcorn flick and I highly recommend it to anyone. Just don’t try to make the movie anything it’s not and I guarantee you will enjoy it.
