Piranha 3D Review

 I was not a fan of the the original or its sequel but when I saw the trailer for this movie I thought it was going to be better. I couldn't have been anymore wrong.

 It was just bad. The acting was terrible but I expected that.  Alexandre Aja did a job job with the filming of the movie considering it was a 3D movie that wasn't shot in 3D. I enjoy most of his previous movies that he made and while I don't like this movie I won't take anything away from him.

 What I really love about the movie(which is the only thing I liked about the movie) is the 3D. Considering it was converted after filming it looks near perfect. It is by far the best post production 3D conversion yet. There is not a lot of dark scenes in it like past conversion like Clash of the Titans and Alice in Wonderland which was a big plus.

 Another thing I liked about the movie was acting legend Christopher Lloyd. While he is not in the movie much he steals the scenes he is in and plays the character perfectly. Can't really understand why they could find more work for him in this movie but things happen.

 Now to the biggest problem with this movie. The nudity. Yes I know it is set during spring break but did they need to rely on so much nudity? I thought I was watching a softcore porn after awhile. Movies that rely of nudity often aren't that good and this is just another great example.

Overall if you like the original you should like this movie but if you aren't a fan of the original like myself just skip it. Now if you don't want to watch the original I would still suggest to stay away. The only thing worth seeing is the nudity and you can see that at your home. There is nothing special about this movie and there is certainly nothing making it special enough for you to spend extra money for a ticket to see it.
