The Fog (2005) Review

7 out of 10 Skulls

As of today the Zombie Eater is now another victim of "The fog" remake. What you might ask if you trust what words i speak. Is it bad ,good ,shity, or ,in between?. well read on and find out. To start things off if you have read my review on the classic "The Fog" then you already know how i fill about it. the original is one of my all time favorite ghost flicks. And if you have read over my recent review on the "Dawn of the Dead" remake then you should know how i fill about remakes all together.

I find them to be fucking pointless most of the time. So take all that in. We got a remake of one of my all time favorites And how well does it mix?. Unforchanly "The Fog 2005" is one of the in between ones. If i had to compare it to any of the past remakes it would have to be "Dawn of the Dead". Just as much is took from the original in this remake as there was in Dawn. And just that is enough to piss off most old school horror fans like myself. Im not going to take too much time bitching about whats wrong with this remake. If i did this would be one long damn review. All im going to say is it could have been alot worse. But however the things that are wrong with this film shines like a fucking  ray of holy light.

One of the major problems i found in this film is it fucking bored the hell out of me for the first 30-45 mins. Sure it started off promiseing but after about 15 mins into the film it all went into the lame PG-13NESS. Yep it turns into a contemporary horror flick for a little while and thats just the thing i had feared it would be when i first heard that this movie was going to be rated PG-13. I fucking hate it when they take a once kool horror flick and turn it into some complicated bullshit that you need a college degree to understand. Find out more of whats wrong and whats right as i touch on the basics. Ok first up is The Acting * !!WARNING SOME WORDS THAT ARE ABOUT TO BE SPOKEN MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR KIDS!!* ah yeah the acting.

Everyone of these motherfuckers are cock suckers and should be banned from ever acting in another movie again. The only acting halfway decent was Stevie Wayne's kid and the priest. The others act as if they had been fucked up the ass for too long. *lights a cigg* The Special FX was one thing that i truely did enjoy about this remake. In the original we did not get to see the ghots hardly any at all. And this remake makes up for that in a good way. The ghosts look very creepy and kool allmost like zombies. As for the fog itself at times the cgi fog bugged the hell out of me.

It looked more natural in the original movie. As for the gore its not bad for a PG-13 film. In fact i think there is a little more violence in this film then the original had. The music sucked it sounded fake. Nothing creepy like Carpenter cooked up in the original. Even the music Stevie Wayne played sucked. And i have to say Stevie Wayne is one of the worst replacements this remake had. Now comes the story. So try to sit back and enjoy a story that seems like its already been told once in a lifetime before. Wellcome to Antonio Bay a little town by the sea that holds many dark secrets. Antonio Bay is now going to age a 100 years old.

So the towns people plan to celebrate Antonio Bay's anniversary. At sea something evil is moveing in on cost. It is a fog and inside dwells evil forgotten spirits of the past. What they want is simple it is one word that holds many levels of hate. And that word is revenge. And they will kill who they want , take what they want till there dead hearts are suited. So woe onto any fool that gets lost in the fog cause you will not come back out in one piece. Over all i give this movie a 7. It is not "The Fog" i was hopeing for but like i said it could have been worse. I suggest you wait and give this one a rent. Cause its one of the type of flicks thats only good for a late night watch. Till Whenever RIP...
